What is tinyRTE?
tinyRTE is an alternative, based on moxiecode´s TinyMCE, Rich-Text-Editor for Typo3. It is maintained by outraxX.
A lot of work float into this project, to make the Filebrowser more useable. In this case, it´s importand to display the correct link in the Filebrowser, if you have selected one in the Editor-Area. So... if a selected link is an external url, the Filebrowser should display the "External URL"-Tab. Not any other. Check it out. On the other hand, the configure of an RTE should be simple as can be. We try a new way to configure the RTE for User and Groups in Typo3.
Since version 1.5.9 you can use our Button-Configurator to configure the visible Buttons.
Special features of tinyRTE
inlinepopups | Opens all dialogs in a layer instead of a real Window. For User with Popup-Blocker is this very useful. |
Tables | Tables can be modified in various way's to become best results. |
Editor | The Editor can be rezized by the User vertically and horizontally. This can be enabled and disabled by the Typo3-Administrator. |
Undo/Redo | Great Undo pool to undo and redo many actions. |

Spellchecking | Crossplatform spellchecking. If no "aspell" or "pspell" available on the Server, tinyRTE uses Google-Webservice with Ajax-Technic to check. You can enable various languages to check. |
Fast | tinyRTE loads faster than other available RTE's. |
Configure | tinyRTE is simple to configure. You can set each Button/Plugin for TinyMCE (the JS-Editor which works in tinyRTE) in the User- and Groups-Settings. Of course the settings can be override by TS-Config. |
Compression | Serverside GZip compresses TinyMCE to reduce overall download size. It makes TinyMCE 75% smaller and much faster to load. |
